Today Secretary of State Al Jaeger presented a ceremonial first copy of the 33rd edition of the North Dakota Blue Book to Governor Doug Burgum. The presentation took place at a ceremony in the Capitol’s Memorial Hall.

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has issued a public notice regarding the State of North Dakota DBE (Disadvantage Business Enterprises) goal of 3.0 percent for work at the state's NPIAS General Aviation Airports.

During the first half of calendar year 2019, North Dakota’s commercial service airports provided a total of 580,343 passenger boardings. This is a growth of 53,240 passengers or a 10% increase from this same time period in 2018.

June 6, 2019

On June 6th, 2019, the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission finalized approximately $3.5 million in infrastructure grant allocations to multiple public airports throughout the state. The individual awards are noted on the attached listings which show 165 individual projects received grant awards at 66 different public-use airports throughout the state.

May 15, 2019

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $22 million in Airport Improvement Program (AIP) supplemental grants to three North Dakota airports, including: Hector International Airport in Fargo – $10 million for apron construction. Watford City Municipal Airport – $10 million for runway construction. Hillsboro Municipal Airport – $2 million taxiway construction.

Combat Raider, a military exercise involving various aircraft, is scheduled for May 14-16 in the Powder River Training Complex and Temporary Rushmore Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace, and will conclude May 16. The TRATCAA is the same geographic airspace as the PRTC, extended vertically.

March 13, 2019

On Sunday, March 3rd, eleven pilots were presented with awards for participating in the “Fly North Dakota Airports” Passport Program. The passport program presents awards to pilots for flying to airports in the state as well as attending FAA Safety Seminars and visiting the two North Dakota Air Museums.

The Maddock Municipal Airport has received the “2018 General Aviation Airport of the Year” award. The award was presented on March 5th, 2019 at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium held in Bismarck. The award is sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota. This award is for excellence in maintaining safety, project management, and community awareness.

The Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport has received the “2018 Commercial Service Airport of the Year” award. The award was presented on March 5th, 2019 at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium held in Bismarck. The North Dakota Aviation Hall of Fame committee announces that Brian Rau has been selected for induction into the state’s Aviation Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place on the evening of March 5th, at the Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium banquet in Bismarck, ND. Brian Rau will join the prestigious aviation hall of fame group that currently includes 43 other individuals who have all had a significant impact to the growth, development, and promotion of aviation in North Dakota.
