In November 2024, 103,279 passengers boarded flights in North Dakota, making it the busiest November on record and surpassing the previous high of 102,517 passengers set in November of 2014. The latest figures represent a 7% increase over November of 2023, with 6,561 more passengers. This November also marked the seventh consecutive month of record-breaking passenger totals across the state’s commercial service airports.

In October 2024, 112,273 passengers boarded flights in North Dakota, making it the busiest October on record and surpassing the previous high of 110,013 passengers set in October of 2014. The latest figures represent an 11% increase over October 2023, with 10,896 more passengers boarding flights. This October also marked the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking passenger totals across the state’s commercial service airports.

With 98,371 passengers boarding flights within North Dakota this past month, it marks the busiest September on record, surpassing the previous high of 92,703 passengers set in September of 2014. The September 2024 figures reflect a year-over-year increase of 7,101 passengers, representing an 8% rise over September 2023. Additionally, this marks the fifth consecutive month of record-breaking passenger numbers for the state.

North Dakota airports experienced their busiest month of August on record, with 108,035 passengers boarding flights. This surpasses the previous August record of 103,765 passengers set in 2014. All eight commercial service airports saw increased traffic compared to August 2023.

North Dakota airports had their busiest July on record as passenger boarding numbers reached 112,141 passengers for the month. This surpasses the previous record of 111,209 passengers that was set in July, 2014. This month's figures also represent a significant year-over-year growth of 12,693 boardings, which is a 13% increase compared to July, 2023.

During the first half of 2024, North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports saw a total of 593,550 passenger boardings. This marks an increase of 43,588 passengers, or 8%, compared to the first six months of 2023.

North Dakota airports had their busiest May on record as airline passenger boarding numbers reached 103,068 passengers for the month. The previous record for the month of May was set during the 2014 oil boom with 100,389 passengers.

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission recently finalized and approved $16 million in state infrastructure grant allocations to 190 individual projects and 65 different public-use airports throughout the state.

Commercial airline boarding numbers for April 2024 reached 94,112 passengers, which represents a growth of 6,889 boardings or an 8% increase from April of 2023. Seven of the eight of the commercial service airports also had higher passenger numbers than during this same period last year.
